Last Wednesday I had the pleasure to work with a very interesting group of women in Zurich. Most of them were career women between 24 and 50 years of age mostly from abroad. They came to Switzerland (Zurich) because of their jobs and commitment with their careers.
We had 2 hours of workshop where we talked about life, priorities, focalization, action plans, likes and dislikes. It was great for me to feel the energy that inspired women can unleash!
They all had a common denominator: the will to create momentum to go to the next step in their lives. There is nothing greater for a coach to find such a wonderful group! I had two amazing hours of power. I am very grateful for that.
The sad part for me was, that just a few women had found new friends and a welcome environment in Zurich, because I cannot forget how hard for me it was to assimilate in Switzerland.
Just tree years ago, I came back to Switzerland with my husband (a Swiss) and our tree children (born in Switzerland) from being 5 years in Miami, Florida. Despite the fact that we knew a lot of people in Luzern, we were alone most of the time and it took almost two years until my kids had new friends.

These women took the very fist step, which was to go and find connections in clubs and associations. Perfect, congrats!

If I may say something, I would love to encourage them now to do the second step: to go out and get the Swiss people involved in their lives. Yes, I know they are hard to get, but when you got them and show them your appreciation and respect, you will have them on your side. You will see, your life here is going to get much more fun and less lonely.

I did it. It was very hard to literally go out and knock on unknown doors, but it was worth it! I created a powerful Network that helped my family and I feel right at home.
